The creative Brian Chirls Knight Technology Fellow at the POV Digital visit us so that you can get up to eyes and boost your skills in virtual reality!

Brian holds a one-day workshop on how to create content for VR. Are you a curious beginner, do not fear, Brian will begin with the basic principles of VR.

The workshop:
The workshop will discuss the design, production and distribution of virtual reality content. Following an introduction to the basics of VR production and design, participants will team up to build their own virtual reality prototypes for Oculus Rift and Google Cardboard using POV's WebVR Starter Kit. Basic JavaScript coding skills are helpful but not required, and attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop!

The workshop will cover:
-The production process for both live action and computer-generated VR content
-The differences between traditional filmmaking and VR filmmaking
-The players, hardware, software and the distribution channels in VR marketplace

When: 17 November
Time: Breakfast will be served 09:30 a.m. and the workshop starts at 10.00 a.m. - 04.00 p.m.

About Brian
Brian Chirls is creative developer based in New York and CTO of datavized, an immersive design and technology studio. Brian recently completed a Knight Technology Fellowship at POV, where he worked on experimental interactive documentary technology. He has developed innovative models for interaction, data visualization and content-authoring in virtual reality and has researched design patterns and tools for interactive video. Brian is also known for his earlier work on Seriously.js, Mozilla's Popcorn.js and the cult film Four Eyed Monsters.
