Collaborative city development

22 November, 2012 - 10:25

To include users in development processes is becoming more and more common within the media industries. Co-creation is often made possible through digital solutions. How can this be translated into city development processes? How do we create and take care of involvement and how do we build the city together?

Media Evolution get more and more inquiries within this subject; how co-creation processes, communication, and digital solutions could look. On Wednesday November 21st we gathered a few of those working in different ways with this question.

Round table discussion about collaborative city development 21st of November:
On an initiative by the project group for Norra Sorgenfri (Malmö City) and with a starting-point in the questions they are working with we arranged a round table discussion about potential possibilities. We know this is important, but how can we interest, involve, and co-produce together with the target group.

The dialogue in the round table discussion starts from three questions posed by Norra Sorgenfri:
- How can we work in different ways with the dialogue with citizens in the city development process?
- How do we collect what is created in the city development of a city/neighborhood/region?
- How can energy and involvement from individuals and businesses in the city be identified, made visible and taken care of to create a drive in the city development process?

Round table discussions is a way to create an open dialogue under process management by Media Evolution, to share knowledge and develop new together. All participants come from different perspectives and expertise and they bring just that to the discussion. With a starting-point in these questions we will lead a dialogue where we through shared knowledge will develop thoughts and ideas and concretize possibilities for how city development can be collaborative.
