Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1 we arranged the world's first Meet'n'Hack at Media Evolution City
A day of meetings and sharing of knowledge, and a day of hacking of new, innovative, sustainable applications for the tourism industry.

Meet’n’Hack was Tourism in Skåne initiative and project managed by Media Evolution, we wanted to make the bridge between tourism operators and developers smaller by one day to listen to the expertise of the developers' perspective and hear from tourism operators about their needs and challenges - and then make digital solutions based on our new knowledge.

At Media Evolution Bambuser channel you can see all the speakers and the Tourism panel (in Swedish)

We were visited by Expert Maker who told us how their solution can tune tourists' preferences via their search function, and Joakim Lundblad from the South Swedish Chamber of Commerce hosted a roundtable discussion on open data in the tourism industry. ArrivalGuides talked about how the developers could work with their data for this occasion.
A few took the opportunity to listen to Jan Badosa, digital communicator from Barcelona we may get the chance to bring him back at another time so that more get the chance to listen to him and his knowledge.

Friday ended with after work and the teams started to generate ideas and all Saturday was devoted to the development, despite the nice weather outside the window.

At 17:00 on Saturday, it was time for the five teams that worked to the last to pitch their ideas to the jury, the jury consisted of Kristin Heinonen - GoodOld, Pernilla Rydmark - .com / Internet Fund, Ted Valentin, Sara Ponnert - Media Evolution and Petter Söderström - Tourism in Skåne.

The pitches
- Caroline Ljungberg Malin Olofsson and Jacob Smith was the first team to present and featured a Hub Bicycle Guide, adapted to how long you can be out on your bike and shows you were the best bikes trails are and show producers, organic farms and eco friendly places.

- Robert Edström and Daniel Farsi presented Popin - an application that was based on City Breaks API and who collected all checkins via social media to see which hotspots there are in a city, so that when you come to a new place can see where people hanging.

- Pinmeto want to help tourism organizations to add a social layer and take advantage of the statistics that it also provides. You should easily see where your friends usually hang out, and if it would be that they have not been where you end up, you can see which sites are most popular.

- Jonas Bengtsson has always wanted to make a solution that shows all walking trails in Skåne in the same place, their tracks, where you can barbecue, which nature experiences you can be expected to find - so he made such he calls Ramble (Ströva).

- Caroline Alesmark is a journalist who has worked with various guides and has written a lot about film locations in Skåne, she teamade up with Erik Jonason from MrFootage, Stockholm and came up with Film location Travel Guide - which in different ways show you movie filming locations, where scenes unfolded, curiosity and all fun info you may be able to imagine.

After a moment of contemplation the jury picked Pinmetoas the winner of the world's first Meet'n'Hack. Congratulations to Daniel Melkersson, Petter Palandergatan, Elias Andersson, Marcus Olsson and Michael Nilsson on http://www.pinmeto.com/!

Popin won Tourism in Skåne second-runner-up price and Movie Location Travel Guide, won for best fiction solution.
