About the Medea Talk
As an increasingly interconnected global society, we are experiencing a massive social shift that is changing the way we govern ourselves, build our societies, create our livings, talk to each other, entertain ourselves, and develop our cultures. Transmedia storytelling — the participatory co-creation and multiple-channel distribution of media that builds an immersive, comprehensive experience around a core story — is increasingly the way media will flow online and in the real world. People who work to create shifts in culture and society through activism, advocacy or art are starting to benefit from innovations in new media technology. Recognizing this, Lina Srivastava created the “transmedia activism” framework. In this talk, Lina will speak about her work in social change through strategy, design, and media engagement, and will present current case studies and media clips highlighting her work in transmedia activism.
