Southern Sweden Creatives

The Southern Sweden Creatives project supports small and medium- sized companies from the cultural and creative industries to grow internationally through professional business development, international exposure, and national coordination. The project focuses on southern Swedish companies that work primarily with film, digital games, digital media and design.
Southern Sweden Creatives is carried out by Invest in Skåne, Region Skåne, The City of Malmö, Film i Skåne, Media Evolution, NetPort Science Park, The City of Lund/The Creative Plot, Form/Design Center, and The City of Helsingborg. The project is co-financed by the European Union Regional Development Fund and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, and runs between 2016-2019 with a budget of approximately SEK 17M.

Media Evolution is responsible for the projects initiatives at SXSW 2016 and 2017, 040x040 and involved in the games trips, first one to GDC 2017.

Vision
Southern Sweden Creatives envisions being a contributing factor for small to mid-sized companies that work in cultural and creative industries to succeed in export, sales, employment, expansion, internationalization, as well as, being a catalyst for urban development. Cultural and creative industries have a huge potential to help fuel Sweden’s economy and Southern Sweden Creatives is the first project initiated by the region will help put southern Sweden and Sweden on the map for their work within these sectors. We also intend to communicate the opportunity for our cultural and creative industries to compete with some of the world’s leading markets.
